Tsunami Benefit Concert
The Mozart Requiem
January
16, 2005
Eglise St. Francois,
Lausanne
More
than 300 singers, musicians and soloists performed the Mozart Requiem
to raise money for the victims of the tsunami in south-east asia.
A collection exceeding 17,000 Swiss francs went to Terre des Hommes
and their efforts to ensure the well-being of children in Sri Lanka.
One
week before the concert, Voix d'Espérance issued an open
invitation to all singers wishing to participate. The response exceeded
our greatest expectations. Singers from as far as German-speaking
Switzerland joined along with singers from the Canton of Vaud to
prepare the Mozart Requiem in a single 2-hour rehearsal. A professional
ad-hoc orchestra and 4 soloists (Blandine Charles, Marie-Hélène
Essade, Valerio Contardo and Stephane Imboden) gave benevolently
of their talents and time, for which we are deeply grateful.
The
concert program and poster
are available for download in .pdf format.
